Is this true? If the subframe, where it is rusted and cracked, if where it is cracked should break through, will parts above it fall out? The repair shop claims that parts above the frame have dropped into the frame. Is this what is causing the shift to be so hard to move? At first they thought it was a cable, so they ordered the cable (said it would be about $490 repair) and when they started to do the repair, they found that the cable is fine but the subframe needs to be replaced. Is it possible to replace just half of the frame that is rusted? The repair shop says it is all one piece. They showed me under the car, and the whole right side of the frame is completely rusted and cracked in 2 places, while the left side is just fine no rust at all.

They did not say there was anything wrong with the transmission it self, but that the frame was so rusted through on the driver side that the parts bolted to it had dropped into the frame. I took it to a repair shop and they said that they would have to replace the front subframe. Even though I hold the button in, it is very hard to shift into reverse or drive or back to park.
